About
Joyful Treats
Joyful Treats Event Planners began in 2001 when owner,
Khadija Wallace, began decorating cakes for weddings, birthdays, and
graduations. Her family helped her in this effort, and she soon realized
that she was not only establishing a new business, but she was also
creating a strong bond with her children.
With her traditional Southern heritage as a guiding force, Khadija
began to expand her efforts into other areas of event planning. Khadija
and her children have grown with the business, and today, Joyful Treats
has become a full service minority-owned event planning business that
serves a diverse community.
Khadija has a mission to pursue, develop, and maintain a lifelong relationship
with her clients. Working with her own children has also helped guide
her vision of assisting youth in preparing for financial success, helping
them adjust to traditional and non-traditional family lifestyles, and
educating them in a variety of tasks necessary for successful business
ownership and operation.
Joyful Treats Event Planners arranges services for weddings, graduations,
corporate meetings, birthdays, carnivals, reunions, baby showers, and
other gatherings.
Some recent Joyful Treats catering successes have included
services for:

Town- Boys and Girls Club of Detroit

Testimonies
Customer satisfaction is key to any company’s success!
Here is some recent feedback from satisfied Joyful Treats clients:
Richard King, head of Eastern Michigan University’s
Small Business program, hired Joyful Treats to coordinate food and
decorations for his daughter’s high school graduation. He had
this to say about the service he received, “It’s hard
to be successful over the long term if you don’t satisfy your
customers … (Khadija) seemed very thorough and excited about
the quality of work she performed.” Joyful Treats maintained
open lines of communication during the planning process to fulfill
its commitments, King added.
Denese Brown, Executive Director for POWER, Inc.,
a faith based community development corporation, hired Joyful Treats
to assist her with a cake and decorations for her son’s wedding.
“Khadija went above and beyond what I asked her to do,”
said Brown. “She was a blessing to me and I appreciate her
work.”
The Weadocks hired Joyful Treats to make their cake
for their over night wedding in Irish Hills, Michigan. Tammy Weadock
later wrote to say: “Just thought I'd let you know that Terry
and I pulled our cake top out of the freezer and ate it for our first
anniversary, and boy was it good! It was almost as good as it was
on the wedding day! We loved it!”
